Number of Poles living in poverty stays flat

Poland did not see any significant changes in the number of Poles living in poverty in the past two years, despite economic growth, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna wrote citing the data published by the statistical office GUS.

In 2010, 5.7% of Poles lived in poverty meaning that their spending was below the minimum defined by the Labor and Social Issue Institute (466 zlotys for a one-person household and 1,257 zlotys for a family of four).
