Poland enjoys memorable victory against Germany in European Championship qualifier

Poland defeated World Cup champion Germany 2-0 in a European Championship qualifier at the National Stadium in Warsaw Saturday, to earn their first ever victory over its neighbor and take control of Euro 2016 qualifying Group D.

Arkadiusz Milik scored with Poland's first shot on target in the 51st minute and Robert Lewandowski set up Sebastian Mila to score another goal in the game in the 88th minute.

"We're delighted to have beaten Germany for the first time. You can see how much it means to people," Lukasz Piszczek, who plays club football for German side Borussia Dortmund said.

"This is just the beginning," Poland coach Adam Nawalka said after the meeting. "Our goal is to qualify for Euro 2016. But of course, such historic victory is very tasty," he said.

Arkadiusz Milik secured a deserved draw for Poland in the 75th minute of a European Championship qualifier with Scotland at the National Stadium in Warsaw.

Earlier, in the 12th minute Krzysztof M±czyński score the first goal in the game.

The result ensured Poland kept the first position of Group D ahead of Ireland, with Scotland in the third place, Germany in fourth, Georgia fifth and Gibraltar sixth.
