Nowadays, Łańcut is a small city with almost twenty thousand people who live there. Years ago, it was one of the main aristocratic residencies in Europe. It is because of the 17th century castle, built by the Lubomirski family. Together with an English park (which is 360 000 sq m), the old carriage house and hippodrome it has become a huge complex. Earlier used by the aristocracy, during the second world war as a Wehrmacht seat, today it is a great museum. The place is also worth seeing because of the castle library, which, owning over 22 thousand books, is the biggest baronial library in Poland and because of the newly rebuilt orchid greenhouse, where you can find a great variety of this interesting plants.

One of the most beautiful monuments of the Polish Renaissance architecture is located 10 km from Przemyśl, in the south-east of the country. It was built in the late 16th and early 17th century by the Krasicki family. Stanisław Krasicki started to build the strong, armed fort and his son, Marcin changed the castle into an aristocratic residency. Four round towers of the castle placed in the corners, have their own names - the Divine, Papal, Royal and Nobleman's Tower - which symbolize the hierarchy of the world, imagined by the founders. The chapel in the Divine Tower is comparable to the Zygmunt Chapal at Wawel Castle in Cracow, the whole castle has also a lot of interesting portals, arcades and unique murals called sgrafitto. The castle is surrounded by a small park, in which there are rare trees and shrubs.
